Yotel Singapore - Review

Due to the Covid-19 situation, most of us can't travel. What's a better way to have a holiday now? In Singapore, you can opt for a staycation. I decided to book a night stay in one of the hotels at Orchard Road in December because I want to view the Christmas lights at night. After browsing online, I decided to go with Yotel Singapore because it's really value for the prize, and it's located in Orchard Road too. You can easily pop by the shopping malls.

I had previously stayed in Yotel in New York, so I already knew that it's one of the "smart" hotels. The processes are completed digitally. However, due to the current situation, there are staff around to take temperature and assist with the check-in and check-out. The entire process is fuss-free.

I requested for a high-floor hotel room, facing the city. I wanted to have a glimpse of the Christmas lights from the room. Thankfully, I got a high-floor room with a good view, but I could hardly see the Christmas lights.

The room is quite small. You can possibly put 2 luggage, and have limited walking space. If you are staying alone, I think this is good enough. The bed is a little too small for 2 people. It felt like it's slightly smaller than Queen size. The only thing that I didn't like about the room was the bed. It was too soft for my liking. I could sink into the mattress. I do not find it comfortable.

I really love their toilet design. It's a floor to ceiling window. There are blinds available, so you can pull down the blinds when you need to use the washroom. Thanks to the window, plenty of light can enter the room when the sun is up. You can have a nice night view at night too. This is also one of the reasons why I chose Yotel Singapore. It has the same concept as the one in New York too.

Entertainment wise, there are a lot of TV channels available. You can go out, get some snacks and stay in the room for the whole day. I didn't do that. I was out shopping and dining.

Honestly, it was a great one night stay. If you are looking to have a staycation in Orchard Road, I think 1 night is good enough, after all, it's the same city lifestyle. If you are a tourist, you can consider staying in Yotel Singapore because it's really value for money for the location.

x, Esther
